The Age of Dragons:
1 AoD: Dragons, both chromatic and metallic, emerge as dominant forces in OnceWas. Chromatic dragons establish tyrannical kingdoms driven by greed and malice, vying for supremacy over mortal races.
20 AoD: A ruthless cleric named Vutra Rax rises in power and his favored by Xalara.
50 AoD: The elves, a mystical race, arrive through ancient portals hidden in the forests. Queen Genevieve establishes the city of Silvandor in the Eldertree Forest.
75 AoD: Xalara uses dark rituals and sacrificial magic to extend Vutra Rax’s life. Vuta Rax ascends to lichdom, becoming Vutra Rax the Undying.
100 AoD: Xalara's influence grows, plunging OnceWas into darkness as her malevolent power spreads unchecked.
200 A0D: The gods intervene. The gods alongside the metallic dragons and their allies among mortals and elves mount a renewed resistance against Vutra Rax and the chromatic dragons. Epic clashes ensue in the skies, with dragons wreathed in divine light battling those shrouded in darkness.
250 AoD: The god Gaoth confronts Xalara in a titanic battle on Lonely Hill. With fury in his eyes and storms at his command, Gaoth strikes down the Shadow Queen with a thunderous bolt of lightning that shatters her dark form. Xalara’s cursed blood seeps into the earth, staining the land with malevolent energy. Vutra Rax is banished to the desolate Wastelands.
The Divine Pact
In response to the catastrophic events, the gods establish an accord to refrain from direct interference in the affairs of mortals, fearing their own destruction. They operate through men, doling out divine magic to their worshippers to further their own own ends.
The Legacy of the War of Dragon
The War of Dragons leaves lasting scars upon OnceWas. Diminished in number, metallic dragons become revered legends among mortals and elves, their sacrifice celebrated in tales of valor and resilience.
The Coming of the Witch
300 AoD: Isoma Ixal is born.
350 AoD: Isoma Ixal discovers Mother Trees and the secrets of longevity.
400 A0D: Isoma Ixal creates the Soulbound Grimoires.
500 A0D: As the Age of Dragons fades, human warlords rise to prominence, each driven by ambition and the desire to carve out their own realms amidst the shifting landscapes of OnceWas. These warlords amass armies, forge alliances, and engage in battles that reshape the political and geographical boundaries of the world.
975 AoD: Isoma Ixal births Ixalor.
The Age of Man:
1000 AoM: The birth of Feall. Human fiefdoms rise and flourish under the control of many warring warlords.
1005 AoM: Lady Lorien becomes Elven Queen of Silvandor.
1020 AoM: Feall rises as a powerful warlord, advised by the cunning necromancer Ixalor.
1030 AoM: Longspine, the Great Red Dragon, settles in the Sand Dominion.
1040 AoM: Gishigan the Great is born.
1050 AoM: Lady Lorien’s elven army exiles the dark elves to the Southern Sea.
1070 AoM: Ixalor builds Fort Orckrag to guard the Mother Tree tree he discovered there.
1075 AoM: Gishigan, Tovenaar, Desinor, Lucan and Pandaras form the Ragged Rooks.
1080 AoM: The Ragged Rooks raid Fort Orckrag and acquire Mother Tree leaves. Pandaras dies.
1085 AoM: The dwarves build Drell’s Keep and mine Lonely Hill.
1090 AoM: Drell’s Keep and the mines beneath it fall. The Dwarves succumbed to the curse of Xalamar’s greed and slayed each other. Gishigan the Great seals off the mines.
1100 AoM: Feall’s armies spread, and he is declared the Great King, marking an age of enlightenment. The other fiefdoms swear loyalty.
Age of Enlightenment.
The Great King's empire flourishes for 100 years. Great cities and infrastructure built. Huge engineering advancements are made. Language is made common.
The Fall of the Great Kingdom and the Rise of Ixalor
1200 AoM: Feall shows signs of madness, possibly under Ixalor's control.
1250 AoM: Madness consumes Feall, and Ixalor rules as regent.
1260 AoM: Feall dies, and Ixalor entombs him, leading to chaos in the Great Kingdom.
1270 AoM: Ixalor expands his power and raises an army of orcs. Humanoids begin taking over as leaders of formerly human territories.
1280 AoM: Elves create the Light of Anon. Malthar, the Demon of Lycanthropy is wounded by the elves using the Lamp of Amon and flees to Orckrag.
1285 AoM: Ixalor leads an army of orcs to attack Silvandor and steal the Light of Anon. He returns to Orckrag to bind Malthar, giving Ixalor power over Lycanthropy. Malar destroys the Light.
The Great War
1300 AoM: A rebellion against Ixalor marks the start of the Great War. Frostheim, Arcanum, Dunmar, Solandil, Hearthland, Corsairia, and the Sand Dominion rise as sovereign nations.
The Empire of Ix
1310 AoM: Great Kingdom falls, and Ixalor retreats to the north.
1315 AoM: Ixalor establishes the Empire of Ix. Mairon gives Ixalor the Black Shield.
1320 AoM: Ixalor's armies conquer various lands, raising the undead to serve him. Ixalor conquers Sunhaven. Baron Solbright is cursed with vampiracy
1330 AoM: The Empire io Ix becomes a land where the sun never shines, shrouded in perpetual twilight. Its inhabitants live in fear of their ruler's dark powers. Only the worship of Mairon, God of the Dead is permitted.
1335 AoM: Ixalor deceives the northern barbarians of Frostheim, instigating raids against Arcanum and Solandil. Ixalor instigates conflict between Solandil and the Sand Dominion. The War of the Sun and the Moon begins.
1340 AoM: Ixalor uses dark rituals to steal life force to increase the power of his Black Magic.
Alliance Against Ixalor
1345 AoM: The city Realm’s End is built over the ruins of Drell’s Keep. The Ragged Rooks assemble again to stop Ixalor's tyranny.
1347 AoM: Halfhag the Mad Artificer creates the Soultrap.
1350 AoM: The Ragged Rooks imprison Ixalor in the Void Beyond using the Soultrap. The Ragged Rooks claims the Black Shield.
1355 AoM: A power vacuum ensues in the Empire of Ix. In the aftermath of Ixalor's disappearance, ambitious factions vie for control over the fractured remnants of the empire.
1357 AoM: Civil war erupts in Ixalor's empire.
1380 AoM: Arch Mage Steven Amber claims the legendary Aetherblade.
Aftermath and Disbandment
1385 AoM: Arch Mage Steven Amber is murdered, and Castle Amber vanishes from Arcanum.
1390 AoM: The Ragged Rooks disbands.
1395 AoM: Halfhag the Mad Artificer entrusts the Soultrap to his apprentice, Heinlore Driessle.
1397 AoM: Halfhag goes missing.
1400 AoM: Driessle goes into hiding.
1410 AoM: Thorgrim Stonebeard becomes Dwarven King of RingingHammer.
Later Events
1450 AoM: A century of peace begins.
1550 AoM: The First Plague strikes the outskirts of Dunmar, devastating every village, hamlet, farm, and cottage. Survivors mostly fled to more secure holds, leaving buildings and ruins abandoned for over one hundred years.
1570 AoM: King Draegon the Unyielding becomes King of Hearthland.
1585 AoM: 200 years of civil war ends in the Empire of Ix as Vexis the Bloodlord's seizes the throne. His rise is marked by ruthless conquest and calculated alliances.
1590 AoM: Gishigan the Great suffers from madness and closes the Magic Guild in Realm’s End.
1610 AoM: King Aradun becomes King of Dunmar.
1620 AoM: Year 620 AoM, Mixed armies of different races band together and overthrow the Solandiln occupying forces in Banorak. Horrut the Terrible becomes Overlord of Banorak and declares it a soverign nation.
1630 AoM: Queen Moira the Radiant becomes Queen in Solandil. Prince Eldun is born in Dunmar.
1635 AoM: The War of the Southern Sea starts between Corsairia and Dunmar. King Aradun goes to war and Duke Eldred rules as regent.
1637 AoM: A truce is declared in the War of the Southern Sea. Eldren opposes Aradun’s return and attemptes to ursurp the throne. Aradun and his army defeat Eldred’s forces. Eldred is exiled to Ravencrest.
1645 AoM: Sir Hund, with the Black Shield, leads a crusade against Baron Solbright. He and his men are massacred at the Battle of Turn Back Pass. Cults of the Dead Goddess Xalara rise up in the Orckrag Mountains.
1648 AoM: The second plague strikes. Lycanthropy spreads through the land. Arcanum is blamed. Wizards and magic become scorned and distrusted.
1649 AoM: Horrors from the Void Beyond begin crossing over into the OnceWas. The Orcs of Orckrag begin uniting under a single banner of a Red Claw. Lord Vexis is brutally murdered, and his bones are used to fashion a new throne for the return of the Emperor, Ixalor.
1650 AoM: Present day.
As the year 1650 AoM dawns upon OnceWas, the realm stands at the brink of chaos. Dark rituals and forbidden magics continue to warp reality, unleashing horrors upon the land.
